I specialize in creating beautiful and intuitive experiences across multiple platforms. I'm currently the Art Director at HR Cloud in Los Angeles, CA. In the past, I've worked at as an Interactive Media Designer creating learning apps and YouTube sponsored content.

Growing up, I wasn’t like every other kid who dreams of flying to the moon. Not me. I had more important matters to worry about. Ever since I took my first computer class in elementary school, I was always that nerdy type geek who scoffed at book reports made with Word Art or essays typeset in Comic Sans. In hindsight, I realize that it was my inner designer exposing itself for the first time.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once said, “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to remove.” Following Mies van der Rohe’s “less is more” philosophy, I believe design should be straightforward and succinct. In its simplicity, it harnesses the capability to evoke a strong emotional response. I take it upon myself to breathe life into what non-designers may view as mundane. My design style is greatly influenced by Swiss designers such as Jan Tschichold and Max Bill who emphasized the beauty and perfection of typography over textures and illustrations.

My design philosophy is based on the idea that type is picturesque in its simplest form. Because it is the most basic form of visual communication, it should therefore be given the most emphasis. Any excess design elements detract from delivering a clear, precise message. In my process, I list what aspects of my work should be most emphasized, along with ways of executing visual hierarchy through use of color, type size, and weight. I also focus on leaving a good amount of white space in my work, as I believe it is the absolute key to a balanced design. By placing a great deal of attention to detail and execution, I am able to further expose the aesthetic potential of design (preferably without the use of comic sans).
